Hey, there’s a new version of the EP now on the Australia itunes containing a previously unreleased track.
Indeed, ‘Recordings of the Middle East (Special Edition) – EP’ contains the additional track ‘Dirty Looks’ and a remixed cover art.

I saw The Middle East in Hamburg – very nice concert..
They played a song about some war veteran (Vietnam, i think) returning til his home country or something like that – can anybody help me with a title on that one?
Hi, it’s called better times are on their way.
Hey, just saw them a few weeks ago in Townsville. They played a song towards the end of the set, been searching for it relentlessly. It had the lyric:
“i’ll give you babies for the rest of your life”
anyone know the name or where i can find it?
Many thanks :D
Just got to tell you guys that i have never heard such consistently fantastic music in all my 42 years. Keep it up!!!

Hey man,
Is there any way possible to find a hard copy of the self-released version of The Recordings Of The Middle East? I’ve been searching for a while and can’t find it or anybody willing to sell it on.
Thanks
Not that I know of. They are like hens’ teeth.
I just heard one song and I loved your sound. The band have a MySpace profile? I wanna listen to all the songs.
Greetings from Peru! :D
I heard your song “Blood” in the movie New Year’s Eve & fell in love with you! I sincerely hope you make it to Virginia Beach VA someday!
Need help desperately – fell in love with that song they played at their final Splendour show – was almost a spoken word song about men at war waiting on a beach or something (?) – built in intensity and sound… I loved it so much and can’t stand the thought I may not hear it again – please someone tell me what it was?!?!
sorry just saw it above – please disregard :)
UN-RECORDED SONGS:

Spell My Name – http://youtu.be/Autv_1Nwf2w
Better Times Are On Their Way – http://youtu.be/DN0FvoHPiV4

I think these are all originals because I couldn’t find any similar songs anywhere but I’m not completely certain.
Do you know of any way to purchase/obtain the songs “Western” and “Dirty Looks”? I’m in the States, and don’t have access to the Australian iTunes Stores.
Thanks for keeping this blog up, mate! I’m still a big fan of the band.
Anyone know where I can find the entire split EP with Sleeping In Trains? The Middle East’s tracks are up on youtube, but I want to have Sleeping In Trains’ part of the EP too. Thanks!
there’s the sleeping in trains part on youtube too, should be on this channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/savcdm
the sleeping in trains tracks from the split ep are
5 Rabbit Hole
6 Tie your Heart
7 Away
8 Cameron
9 Sweet Dreams
happy listening!
Hi, can someone help me, I’m looking for a song I used to listen to, it either starts or ends with fighter jet pilots in the background or some news reporter talking in the background and it was a very sad song. for some reason I feel like it’s by the Middle East or it came on shuffle, I used to be obsessed with it and now I can’t seem to recall it. please help.
Is it the fall of man? I can’t think of any other song that comes close to matching the description.
